Over the past several months, All Saints has seen a wave of the Spirit. Addictions have been overcome, illnesses healed, grievances forgiven, and new believers added to our number. And the best part is, we're not the only church that's experiencing such renewal! As secularism collapses under its own weight, the church stands like a lighthouse amidst a storm.

During the sermon time on Sunday, I'll interview Justin Brierley, a journalist who has chronicled the renewal of faith in the West in his book, The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God, and in his podcast of the same name. We will discuss the very thing we're experiencing at All Saints: renewal. And as we pray for this renewal to give way to revival, we'll discuss how the church can prepare itself to receive what he calls "meaning-refugees," people who've tried living with a secular worldview, but find themselves craving the thing they were created for: a relationship with God.

This conversation is in the context of our upcoming course, Re-Forming Faith. This is a 6 week course designed for those with the vulnerability and courage to ask hard questions of Jesus and the church. Over a meal and non-judgemental conversation, participants will engage those topics that are leading many away from faith, from church-abuse to sexual ethics to politics to suffering.
