James 5:14 encourages us to pray for healing. "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church and let them pray over him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will see the sick, and the Lord will raise him up." In Mark 1:29-39 Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law in her home. She is sick with fever. Her body is not working and, no doubt, her mind is anxious and she is basically shut down.
As most of you know, we are offering a healing service at all 3 services this Sunday, February 9th. This will take place during the sermon time with teaching and healing prayer offered. We have been doing this for several years and many of you and your friends have experienced healing, encouragement, wonder and awe. We have even heard about people watching the service online who have been healed. We include your children in this service so they can be encouraged to know this is a normal practice for Christians. They will have the opportunity to receive the laying on of hands and participate praying for others as well.
So, like we have done in the past, you will have the chance to take part in this on Sunday as we offer practical opportunities to receive and to participate with God in restoration and healing for those in the congregation who want that.
The way we do this is we model the prayer while you stand to extend your hand for those being prayed for. It is not up to us but to God. We will talk about how we respond when our particular prayer is not answered.
Remember, every time we pray something happens and sometimes when we pray everything happens in healing. It's not about technique or always whether we have enough faith etc. It is about God and trusting Him and the Holy Spirit. We want to make ourselves intentionally available. We want to live a naturally supernatural life. Some of the areas the Lord has put on our prayer needs in the past are the following:
shoulder
feet
heart
anger
depression & anxiety
forgiveness & relationships
cancer: breast, lung. liver, colon, etc.
shame
neurological
You are encouraged to send in your prayer requests for us to include in our service on Sunday HERE.
This is a a great time to invite family, friends, and neighbors to come and experience what God is doing.
You are also invited to our healing weekend beginning tomorrow, Friday the 7th at 1:00pm. See the schedule HERE. Some of the topics include freedom through spiritual cleansing, restoring our true identity, forgiveness, living our spiritual assignment, the nature of the spiritual warfare battle, being filled with the Spirit and more.
Come and see.
