It’s easy to fall into thinking that what happened to Jesus on Easter Sunday primarily impacts us individually and spiritually. But as we walk through the Easter season, we are unpacking the reality of Resurrection and its implications for every part of our lives. Our culture tells us that it’s fine to have personal faith as long as we keep it private. Just this morning, I was asked by a customer service person to identify my “religious preference.”
But the Apostle Paul did not live in our culture, and for him, the reality of the Resurrection had public implications, nowhere more famously than in his speech at Mars Hill in Acts 17.
This Sunday, we’ll see what that meant for St. Paul, how he witnessed to the Resurrection in his time and place, to the crowds who asked to know more about this “new teaching.” And we’ll consider what it means that we enter the world of our friendships and workplaces with that same, still new teaching in a spirit of humility and love. I hope you’ll join us!
