As we move through the season of Epiphany, we are to be mindful of the many ways God reveals himself. In our gospel reading this Sunday, Mark 1:29-39 Jesus heals Peter’s mother-in- law in her home. She is sick with fever. Her body is not working and, no doubt, her mind is anxious and she is basically shut down.

This Sunday we are going to have one of our healing services like we have offered in the past. Tomorrow and Saturday we have a healing team from The Falls Church Anglican in Falls Church Virginia leading and teaching all of us about more ways that God heals both physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I believe much of the momentum from weekends like this carries over to the Sunday worship. So, like we have done in the past, you will take part in this on Sunday as we offer practical opportunities to receive and to participate with God in restoration and healing for those in the congregation who want that.

Remember, the way we do this is we model the prayer while you stand to extend your hand for those being prayed for. Every time we pray something happens and sometimes when we pray everything happens. It’s not up to us but to God. We will talk about how we respond when our particular prayer is not answered. Some of the areas the Lord has put on our prayer needs are the following:

shoulder

feet

heart

anger

depression/anxiety

back

arthritis

forgiveness and relationships
